There are years that ask questions and years that answer.

Happy New Year y’all!
I’m back after a much-needed rest.
I look forward to my re-commitment to this endeavor.
As you’ll have undoubtedly noticed, I’ve changed the name of this newsletter from Core2Perimeter, an obscure line in a hip-hop song (shout out to Mos Def/Yasiin Bey), to Black Narrative Newsletter, which doesn’t bury the lede.
I intended this newsletter to explore Black culture, history, and memory visually, so you’ll see me incorporate more visual elements.
I’ll also be publishing on Sundays (today notwithstanding).
Instead of the longer reads, I’ll save both of us some time and let you know when I’m working on something longer. Going forward these communications will be shorter.
I thank you all for journeying with me. This past year has taught me a lot about the person I’m growing into and how I use my writing to process her learnings.
This space will continue to be filled with nostalgia and nuance, history and culture, learning and re-learning. Sankofa—go back and get it.
If you have any insights, please feel free to reach out to me via email or in the comments.
I really appreciate you being here, and look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
Dee
